I am unsure about getting the new Pokemon. I liked SwSh but it was a pretty flawed game, I am anxious about what could happen to the beloved Sinnoh region.
I filled my Pokédex in Ultra Moon and was tempted to get a Switch for the new ones, but apparently they don't have all the Pokémon in them?
Central Africa/East Africa mystify me. They never go online and talk

I miss liking Pokémon. Which was first generation era.
I gave some of the newer ones a try over the years, and they're better games in many respects, but I tired of them astonishingly quickly.
I don't know if that's a Pokémon thing or an RPG in general thing or a depression thing, though.

Most people who aren't hardcore fans feel this way. Pokemon is a strange mix of easy simple casual RPG and a grind RPG, so unless you love the series and the world most people play through it once or twice and put it down.
I literally cannot stop failing.
Despite all that, I don't consider myself a Pokémon Master, I'm not into labels
>>461 I just wanted to brag, not actually have a discussion about it

how about an invisible man reboot but instead of an invisible man, it's an invisible ultra-smart mutant albino gorilla. this amazing idea came to me in a dream

i think pokemon is partly just terribly paced as an RPG. once your party gets its average level past 35 or so, it rapidly starts to feel like there is no point to continuing. your pokeymans aren't going to evolve anymore or learn any more interesting moves, so there's no point in training the ones you have (except to move the "plot" along, inasmuch as there is one, and continue to play coupon collector)
similarly, wild ones mostly aren't worth catching at that point because you'll then have to grind them for 20+ levels before they're useful, at which point there is again nothing interesting to do with them
the reason pokemon blue and red worked was because the elite 4 was beatable with level 40-45s or so and not a ridiculous number of items. so you have to grind a bit to finish the game but not too bad, and the goal feels just-out-of-reach for most of that grinding, so it's motivating. but the new games, they just basically repeat the red/blue formula and then tack on a bunch of levels AFTER that, to where you're hauling around a party of level 70s and trying to beat the new elite 4 in region #2, or chase down the latest iteration of suicune or something (and legendary pokeymans are the least cute / interesting pokeymans, give me a new eevee evolution or a fire-breathing ratata or something instead of that)
basing this on blue, silver/crystal, firered (which i have played personally) and what i have seen of my friends playing sapphire i think it was
i played firered about two years ago and after playing it and i sat down and thought about it and i think the best part of the game is when you're in the forest before the rock gym trying to catch pikachu. levels and new moves are coming quick on all your pokeymans (you can have a butterfree pretty soon if you want, that opens psychic type moves!), and you know having a pikachu isn't going to pay off right away because of the rock gym, but it's exciting because you obviously want to catch pikachu and you know it'll be fun to use it on misty. the play quality is a bit less after that but remains interesting through the team rocket / sylph city arc, then it starts to drop off pretty quickly, levels are further apart, you already have most of the moves you need and the new moves (e.g. psychic) are basically the same as the old moves (confusion) that you already have, just more powerful
did i fucking hallucinate that tweet with the come and see characters in the space jam cast
the illuminati are trying to bring the concorde back, doing sonic boom tests over kansas (including right over wichita so that they can run tests at a university there, the professors really sold that city out)
back in like the 70s they did these same sonic boom tests over oklahoma, so i don't really expect it to go different, either way the concorde is not really "for me" and won't affect my life (unless my window is broken by it) because it'll always be 4x the price of a normal plane ticket
but anyway: gives new meaning to the term "flyover states"
pokemon isnt fun anymore because we're not 11 years old anymore, you're not supposed to think about any of that nerd meta shit you're supposed to be 11 years old and go woww!! cool i love going on adventures with my pokemon!

that could also mean that the people who grew with pokemon have greater disposable income than they did before. who do you think pokemon trading card scalpers are selling their shit to, children with a little allowance money? or jaded millenials with stable jobs?

I genuinely don't think kids today will grow up in the same media environment that made pokemon a thing 20 years ago. The novelty of trading games between physical cartridges is no longer novel, every game has wifi support nowadays, and kids have more impressive interactive games than pokemon. It also was a product of the 90s when trading cards were still a thing, and nowadays nobody really cares about that stuff.
Plus it's just way too hard to catch them all if you're 20 years late to the game.

I have nothing against transpeople, but you should expect that any 2D thing that becomes a trend/meme in the west will end up as a trinket to trannies. Thats just how it is these days

Pokemon is one of if not the most lucrative franchises on earth. Kids HAVE to be into it.
>>470 for now, yes, but soon they'll be doing tests in Kansas by 2024.

And it's only illegal for civilians; I'm sure they've been doing it with military planes at the NTTR this whole time.
That NASA plane in the article is probably just a military plane if i had to guess so that part isn't so different, and the startups might run out of "runway" before they have a prototype, but the key difference I see is that there's nothing in area 51, whereas in wichita there are definitely people. So i think they wanna scrap that rule, yeah.
Will they, i dunno. I'm pretty sure the illuminati have been butthurt and wanting to do overland sonic booms for a long time (hence the Oklahomo City tests mentioned previously https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_sonic_boom_tests ). I do kinda think it might just be that these planes are too impractical to work.
They say Japan is only fun for kids, drunks, and foreigners, but I guess they were subsuming old people and gangsters into those categories.

As the Chinese crypto joke goes, “When the price goes up, it’s blockchain revolution; When the price goes down, it’s a ponzi.” The Bogs would be the metaphorical Charles Ponzi.
It's a joke that someone is out to ruin your speculative activities in volatile markets, and it would help your feelings if that conspiracy was headed by alien-looking freaks with an intelligence far beyond yours and whims that center around your despair.
(Most of) the people who make these jokes understand that what they do is an incredible financial risk, and that among sane people, only those with significant capital to absorb losses really should be playing... just, there's nothing to stop these Internet guys with not much to lose from wanting to strike it big.

Sometimes you want to make amends and the other person wants to hold a vendetta. There's nothing you can do. Sometimes you never get a resolution.
A bunch of the comments section for videos by one of the members of Loituma (group that did the song used in Leekspin) are people posting jokey, memey, or otherwise slang filled comments and her responding in confusion asking what they mean with the original commenter explaining it to her.

i had heard that you can dry and smoke clover flower petals as an "herbal substitute for tobacco"so i tried it. i used a pipe meant for tobacco and didnt inhale, just held the smoke in my mouth and tasted it like you would pipe tobacco.
verdict: it tasted pretty good, light and sweet and floral like you might expect. no psychotropic effects, no lingering burning sensation in my mouth or on my tongue like with tobacco, satisfied my desire to stim orally w/o leaving me mentally incapacitated or giving me cancer, made my room smell nice.
