> "estar" usually refers to impermanent states
This is an obnoxious way to think about the difference between "ser" and "estar" tbh. But I guess it's simpler than figuring out "ser" has an ontological dimension to it, like you're describing being itself, or something inherent to being, which I believe is a more accurate distinction.
lol, states. English has its own treatment of states that's totally normal for us but would be hard to explain to a foreigner. The difference between "I knew" (correct) and "I was knowing" (incorrect) is hard to explain when "I walked" and "I was walking" are both correct.

would an iichan clone/successor even be possible in this day and age? (in the sense that it's better that there isn't one)
Comme des Garcons needs to make "Wonderwoof" next and it smells like dog and dog related scents.
>something inherent to being
in other words, a permanent state, an immutable characteristic of the person or thing in question, without which they would be something else entirely. it makes better sense when you frame it like this but that might be too complex for 9th graders.
sou humano - i am human, it is inherent to my existence, i will never not be a human, if i were some other animal it would change my inherent nature
estou morto - i am dead, but this is not an inherent characteristic of my existence, i used to be alive (and one day you'll join me)

unfortunately, most of the time i try translating japanese music in my head, it ends up being in the format of trying to explain it (in my imagination) to my high school counselor, who absolutely hated my guts

I never used Tumblr, but I do remember around that time there was the Tumblr blog that was just screenshots of /dqn/ (and maybe SAoVQ) AA threads. I just saw a picture referring to that post today on Twitter with other related images in the replies.
>>302
Considering how anemic the imageboard userbase is these days I don't really see the point of it anymore.
Tonight's episode of "Where are they now?": Internet edgelords who said "we're overdue for a new plague."

The webring is a iichan successor in concept. Alas it's populated by the 8gag diaspora so it is its own realm of piss and autism.
i do wish i could do something about the occasional suicide discussion
but does this stem from genuinely wanting to help those people, or do i just feel bad over my own lack of ability?
>>315
We've been over this.
2.
2 people came.
That's how we have 7 people instead of the old 5.
>>318
Men that are discussing suicide for reasons outside of methods usually dont really want to do it, so you probably do want to help
Absolutely nothing happened today in 1989
t-square gets a lot more amusing when you find out what most of the people there were actually protesting for
the good thing about vtubers is that their existence debunks the long standing myth that 2d purists are somehow above 3dpd thot worshippers (or as the lingo puts them, simps)
was fashion the reason why they were there?

i want to eat less meat again so i'm learning some indian cooking. using no-refrigeration low-tech foods like legumes and ghee is also appealing, but i'm fixated on pre-modern life in general so that might just be me.
after looking through a lot of crap recipes (and the other extreme, innovative recipes that implicitly assume knowledge of the basics of south asian cooking) i finally found a book i would recommend which is 660 curries by raghavan iyer. (the title is a lie; it is a general purpose indian cookbook including chutneys, sambars, etc and explicitly mentions which recipes are from which part of india)
does anyone here know other good south asian cookbooks?
>>323
A lot of 2D purists HATE vtubers! they are intensely controversial on imageboards where they are common.
>>328
The YouTube channel CookingInRussia (now rebranded as CookingInFinland) has a good video on making a red masala for different curry applications. He also has a few other vegetarian and pescatarian curry recipes. Those only make up a small part of his video library, but the depth he goes is what sets his channel apart from most other ones. There's a good amount of non-South Asian vegetarian recipes as well. He also has a book on vegetarian dishes, but if you don't really enjoy cooking I'd avoid it because it's very involved. Most recipes in it have 2 or more layers of component preparation before you can even start the actual dish.
covid neetbux finally arrived, this is the most money I've ever had
>>331 this was the case for like everyone under 40 that i know, its sad

you should make a shitcoin called "covid neetbux" and lose it all speculating on your own crypto

Not surprising, although in truth it's because I never managed to land a job (because I live like a monk, I'd have retirement kind of money by now).
This chapter having taken nearly half my life so far has been so depressing; I was working so damn hard to pump out job applications proving I'm a failure and for what? To help a giant corporation trample on people's liberties worldwide and get them more addicted to phones?
So I still don't know where my life is going, but I think my career will involve no more jobs.
take it to /personal/ lol
Everything about me is getting worse the older I grow, at my current trajectory I will be a fat worthless piece of human trash by the age of 40
Made $300 off ebay selling 3 old games. Makes me pretty cynical. I paid like $50 for the most expensive one.

If you want to, you can go over there and reduce the amount by one!
The thing about nu metal, neue deutsche harte, industrial metal and other 90s metal genres not deemed 'elite' by metal aficionados is that they're less metal and more synthpop and new wave, just with hard guitar riffs taking the place of hard synth stabs. Genuinely good synthpop and new wave at that. Catchy melodies, groovy grooves and interesting sounds permeate the songs of all the big bands in these genres. Had these genres been actual synthpop and new wave one could even excuse their corny lyrics.
I have always wanted to get into metal, but it genuinely made my head hurt whenever I try to listen to most things
>>342 What does it mean to you to "get into" metal, more than just enjoying metal songs?
The best metal band is either Babymetal or Megadeth
Stop Asian Hate feels like a parody of BLM.
All i know about babymetal is one of the members has a gigantic ass
>>346 I'm a fan of their music, but I didn't know that, I'll have to check it out
I listen to Death Metal, but I pretty much stick with Dethklok, even if they're a joke band because the music is actually pretty damn good.
>>346
I didn't know that, I never really shat on them, and instead gave them the benefit of the doubt when the normies started getting butt mad about their music as I am a fucking contrarian. Anyway, as a lover of ass, I must see this ass.
VC: shitter
my favorite heavy metal act is darude

Don't call yourself a NEET if you never dropped out of high school and your life isn't dependant solely on your parents' well being.
Or if you want to, you can just call yourself a NEET if you're currently unemployed #NoMoreNEETGatekeepers
I propose the term "elite NEET" for those who have been NEETs since before the age of 18.

>Until 2011 it was carried by IKEA in stores around the world. In the 21st century, the Swedish smörgåskaviar market has fractured, with each supermarket chain promoting its own brand.

My new years resolutions was to read more, both traditional books and comics, but interestingly enough, the more I read manga (mostly stuff set in the real world, and focusing on relationships, romantic and otherwise), the less I want to actually spend a lot of time on fiction. I feel like a schizoid just watching life rather than experiencing it whenever I read SoL things.
What's your fav Depeche Mode song dqn? mine's "Fly On the Windscreen"
Spilled some Comme des Garcons Blackpepper on my seating cushion. Not hating the effects on the room.
>>371 That's a good one! Tough question, they have so many great songs. When I saw them live, A Question Of Time was really cool, so I'll pick that one.
I'm fucking angry. I am unironically seething.
I have a shit load of archived books, comics, videos etc and backups. They constantly give me anxiety and I have a habit of buying SSDs to backup my archive but they eventually get filled with things of their own so I need to buy backups for the former backups.
And then the conflicting hearsay of how to properly take care of SSDs drives me insane!
>>374 Those are good ones too! Shake The Disease, Strangelove, Martyr, Condemnation, Walking In My Shoes, I Sometimes Wish I Was Dead, More Than A Party, these are some more of my favourites
