Whoever put up the "Georgia Guidestones" seriously overestimated people's willingness to obey signs.

I always thought those were just an art project even as someone who leans more conspiratorly
> In June 1979, a man using the pseudonym R. C. Christian approached the Elberton Granite Finishing Company on behalf of "a small group of loyal Americans", and commissioned the structure.Christian explained that the stones would function as a compass, calendar, and clock, and should be capable of "withstanding catastrophic events". Joe Fendley of Elberton Granite assumed that Christian was "a nut" and attempted to discourage him by providing a quote for the commission which was several times higher than any project the company had previously taken, explaining that the guidestones would require additional tools and consultants. To Fendley's surprise, Christian accepted the quote.
lol that's awesome

Christian can afford it now that he has that AEW money

Did England go to crap - or was it always crap? You decide!
>>423 I think it's meant to be serious and I find the ideals listed on them repugnant, but it smells more like the naïve arrogance of an individual (or indeed small group) who isn't as well educated as he believes and can't think past stage one, yet believes his conclusions universal.
The apparently aborted time capsule project, poor spelling and grammar, and reference to "an age of reason" (betraying an unawareness that this name is already claimed) is what makes me lean that way.
>>428
It was always crap.
>>428
Yes, but the 1200s were vc:horkudge on everyone.
>>429 Do you find everything listed on it repugnant? I gathered it was organised by a local masonic lodge, erected during the cold war, as guidelines for the survivors of a nuclear apocalypse (as in after the population has already been decimated, rather than a call to depopulate to below 500,000,000)
I think I'm going to cry!
>>432 Yes.
And I find the Malthusean call to intentionally cap the species population at an arbitrary number (and in favor of some wishy-washy ideal of "nature" at that) more reprehensible than even the call to eugenics.
I do not believe it is meant to say cull anyone, rather that it is worded vaguely (poorly) in an attempt at profundity; whoever composed it likely had no foundation in classical grammar and rhetoric nor, dare I say, wit or philosophy.
The translations on it are not very good, incidentally.
Huh, I wonder what happened to FCH

Are you going to tell us why exactly, or are we going to keep having to listen to vague expressions of self-loathing?
2 people in my city I actually know died right after taking vaccine. Thinking it's safe, harmless, and necessary is just plain wrong. A coworker of relative, and somebody living near a friend of a relative. There are probably more cases, but I don't watch news, and nobody will let those into news.

Honestly. Im more apprehensive of long term effects, check back in 20 years if we all get lung cancer or something.

On the flipside I know two people in my county who died from coronavirus and I live in a fairly rural area. The wife of a local shopkeeper and an acquaintance of my mother. Then again they were both pretty old and one had a stroke a few years ago.

Whatever happened to the goatse guy?
>>461
His name is Kirk Johnson and he's well known in certain amateur porn communities. I found two forum threads claiming he died recently (one in 2006 and one in 2012) but neither seems trustworthy.
Brian Peppers vs Kirk Johnson
The goatse guy's reputation has soiled those of Kirks forever; now they're all suspected anal expansionists.
Did they ever find out about the goatse guy's spouse?
Its a bizarre catch 22 I find myself in. I am not following my dream career because I dont want to regret not starting a family/relationship when im old because of the extremely poor work life balance in said profession.
I hope I dont regret not doing that to avoid regrets.

The pro-Taliban sentiment in Internet right wing/"post-left" circles that is meant to be anti-imperialist is ironically an extremely Amero-Eurocentric POV

>>491
Any idea on how to pass the time when you're up alone? Im so bored and feel unproductive
>>492 tired-but-can't-sleep is kind of a bad mode for doing what I'd prefer to diddle away time doing, like video games, (fulfilling) reading, or learning a skill.
I may have picked up translation and proofreading as a hobby because your work is very one-and-done, plus you come across interesting things. But it's also a bitch to check your work when you're so tired, you make sloppier mistakes than you intend.
Some people have found success just daydreaming themselves back to sleep, though. Wish I could!
(and I've suffered this all my life, I don't really have a solution, just a million hobbies that I'll never be any good at)
>>494 i suffered with insomnia for a long time too but there's some supplements that may help, namely L-theanine, glycine, inositol, magnesium, zinc. eat less simple carbs, cut out all caffeine, get some physical exercise once a day. even at times when i'm awake at night and sleeping during the day doing all those things helps my sleep quality by a lot. melatonin is a scam and probably makes things worse in the long run, like how taking steroids makes your body produce less endogenous testosterone.
cutting ALL caffeine at any time of day is important if you have insomnia, just doing a "no caffeine after noon" rule or something doesn't help much because the half-life of caffeine in the body is about 40 hours.
disclosure: i am >>491, i haven't been exercising due to an injury so ive been having trouble sleeping.
when i do ALL of those things consistently my sleep quality is really good but honestly it's hard to keep up with
