It was offline for like 2 days last September, unless that's what you're thinking of it's your delusion
Man, I'm bored, everything feels the same. Turn on the television, and watch the news, it's the same shit about race (although, for a so-called reckoning, people seem to have mostly forgotten about this and just ignore it now) and the virus and whatever (ditto), watch regular TV and it feels like I've seen everything. I watch sports, seen whatever scenarios are playing out. I play video games, and it feels like I have seen everything games have to offer. I read, felt like I have read it.
Just going through the motions, I guess.
I missed >>196 again
>>196
This may sound trite and preachy in itself but, you know, maybe do something with your life beyond just living vicariously through media. Learn a craft or something. Do stuff with friends (even if it has to be online friends). Y'know?
>>203
Agreed. Learn a skill! Take a break from media. Take a break from the internet in general if you have to.
If media consumption is all you do, you will eventually have an addict's response: diminishing returns, the shit just don't cut it anymore, feeling shame whenever you end up partaking in it, not feeling satisfied when it's over, and so on.
You will come to love your old interests again once you give them a break
>>200-201
4-ch wasn't online in 1993, either.
So yes, we can see from the dates here that 4-ch is actually dead (or more accurately unborn) at this very moment, as we shitpost on it.
>>205
I don't like what your 4-ch scepticism is implying, mister.
>>205
Here we see a clear case of someone from another timeline. 4-ch not only was, but it still is online in 1993.
1993 does not exist, it's a lie created by Netflix to sell Seinfeld

There are still people doing the Harlem Shake on Youtube. Is that not dead?

What's the etiquette for the Beyond DQN thread? Have you guys been doing whole posts only or parts of a larger post?
>>243
I wanted to do
>Hey Stacko, have you still got the Vitos?
but the whole post was
>Hey Stacko, have you still got the Vitos? If not what did you move to?
That second sentence deflates it. The first sentence alone is so punchy and fun sounding.
>>242
I do whole in the beyond dqn thread and only part in the ctrl v thread
>>242
I only commit whole posts as long as they have comment-nature (disappearing comment sections everywhere...), but I take a pretty liberal interpretation of the title. Like I'll paste nobodies or big-fishes-from-small-ponds on the bird site (on the logic that social media is GeoCities but more dystopian). And even out of those I try to make sure it's a post with less engagement than I'd expect (I'm not the one pasting Hakan quotes, by the way; too famous).
If it fails too many checks or I abridge it, CTRL+V it is.
Why couldn't shiggy diggy man last as long as wojak?
>>247
I think most people think it's the latter. It's just random out of context comments, the site itself doesn't have to be obscure.
I literally hate this.
All this time I thought the Monster Hunter fanart was of a character. Turns out it's more like fanart of the one armor set.
Damn what a weird place, you guys are kray-kray! You just post what you're thinking here?
nigel & nigger r almost the same word in japanes
>on the logic that social media is GeoCities but more dystopian
Social media started like a fun geocities fad, I don't know how it became what it is today.
chewbacca bra
>>256 Companies used to put a lot of effort into market research to find out personal info on what people liked and disliked, and how/when/who to advertise to, but then realised from myspace etc that if you give people their own little space they're happy to give all that info to the world for free themselves. The social platforms which followed made it easier and easier to package up an individual's complete sellable consumer profile. The "empowerment" that a platform gives by "giving everyone a voice" is a scam
knowyourmeme less "know your meme" and more "news and gossip for the hip and cool teenager"
I really do wish the idle chatter boards of 2ch and futaba could take off in the English speaking world. Was just reading the insect board on futaba, they were discussing why insects can't have four legs. Fascinating. In the aquatic board I learned that verticle aquariums are regulated and difficult to come by in Japan. I wish it were possible to have so many different idle boards on so many different subjects but this website is testament that it just doesn't work in English.
>Companies used to put a lot of effort into market research to find out personal info on what people liked and disliked
Except they doubled down that effort with shit ton of trackers everywhere. Including the social platforms where people put up their own info.
I think google had something like advertisement settings in your profile that let you see what it had guessed on you.
It's been a long time since I've seen either one but I've been thinking about how in Seven Samurai and all of its Western remakes, one of the plot points is that one of the seven men has a shameful secret about his origins that he keeps hidden from the others until the last possible moment, when it's revealed and the others accept him for it and they all bond over their newfound cohesion.
So, In Seven Samurai, the secret is that the man is not actually a samurai/ronin as he claims, nor does he have any noble blood, he's actually a former bandit who robbed and killed people to make a living. In The Magnificent Seven, the secret is that he's Irish.
DQN, how dare you yoshinoyapost, you are grounded grounded grounded
>>262 Indeed, but now the consumer simply has to visit a website and their info gets shared with 100s of companies, they don't even need to say it out loud and the trackers can paint a detailed picture of the individual

It depends on if you live in a big city or not and if you want to actually meet
>>270
I don't exactly live too far out but I'm in a non-anglophone country, and I should probably get my life a little bit more on track first, so there's that. Still, it would still be nice to start figuring things out even before I'm actually ready...
I feel anxiety before making a post on annonymous messageboards. Is this a sign of legitimate autism?
