How does one determine if an album is self titled or untitled?

116 Name: ((●)トェェェイ(●)) : 1993-09-10326 00:53

>>115
If the album is released in the United States of America, the record label will (hopefully) register their copyright for it with the U.S. Copyright Office. They will do so with the "Group Registration of Published Musical Works" procedure unless they would rather pay the filing fee for each individual song. The application form for this procedure will ask them to list a title for the album, which is then its title as far as the U.S. government is concerned, even if the packaging refrains from communicating this regrettable fact to the hoi polloi.

Additionally, the record label itself, distributors, retailers, etc. will probably assign an internal title for its own paper pushing purposes.

Yeah I thought about it in the context of kids learning to lie as a marker of intellectual development. Malice requires enough abstraction to understand the self, what would consist of a reward for the self, probably some amount of object permanence and a means to distinguish consequence in the future. It sounds like a very complex cognitive process. I guess cognition implies enacting suffering on each other.

With true intelligence comes indifference. You know everything will burn 1000000 years from now on, so nothing really matters.

I think this is neat. Like a precursor to QR Codes, although I believe QR Codes were already a thing when this was developed.

oh shit i didn't see this before i started talking shit about QR codes in the other thread

my beef with QR codes is that 99% of the usage is for URLs and OCR technology is such that URLs can be scanned just as easily, so the only purpose a QR code serves is to obfuscate the URL so that humans can't read it. I know that's the whole point, but I hate it.

I hope Mr. Wikipedia Dick doesn't come and dick me down, that would really be awful

159 Name: ((●)トェェェイ(●)) : 1993-09-10329 02:36

  1. some guy asking another guy if they have a pill for homosexuality
  2. the guy says err.. no
  3. the guy asking says that's a damn shame
  4. it zooms out on a factory labeled homosexuality pills and the guy laughing

a shortened URL absolutely takes up less space than one of those QR codes. literally the whole point of URL shorteners is to make URLs more human-usable, and we're talking about human use. why wouldn't we use them here?

>>159
It's not, but regardless, also easily fixed by URL shortening. This has even already been done by some URL shorteners. My own employer, for example, has an URL shortener that shortens everything 'employer.com/123456789' (some number). Easily read by OCR.

Imageboards are great, they are an incredibly reliable source of rage, annoyance and feel of rejection. Who needs books with those.

Your post must be quality and only quality. Not quality thoughts are now illegal. You are a very convenient slave boy, got it?

I will sabotage everything I will ever be a part of. I will always join only the loosing side. Until I have no sides to join.

I presume that the biggest use case for QRs is not to scan stuff on your phone, but for dedicated low power embedded devices to read stuff as fast and with as little ambiguity as possible for logistics, fulfillments, supply chain management, etc. Scanning URLs from physical mediums is just a nice extra and something not a lot of people do at any rate.

>>185 it clearly makes sense in industrial applications i just think it's awful that every laundry machine, restaurant, and vaccination site (the three actual examples in my life, affecting literally everyone i know) has adopted them since covid started. so if you count 'number of qr codes scanned', the number one user is probably amazon, federal express, or toyota, sure, and there's no problem with that. but if it's 'number of people using qr codes' then probably the #1 user is restaurants or some other public-facing application now.

i honestly just don't believe you. even flight-boarding smartphone apps for use with the dedicated scanners at airline check-in gates blast the backlight on your phone because light is an issue.

I apologise for starting apparently-very-serious QR code discourse, I was just interested in weird 90s software

if i had been a cute girl i'd have almost exactly enough ƒlƒ^ for a 13 episode seasonal anime about the time i worked third shift at a convenience store for like 6 months and the weird shit that happened and things i did to deal with boredom that probably looked funny on the camera

Windows 95 does not work in VirtualBox.

194 Name: ((●)トェェェイ(●)) : 1993-09-10331 23:27

To try out windows 95, use dosbox
http://dosbox95.darktraveler.com/

or PCem and x86Box
https://winworldpc.com/product/windows-95/rtm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNRSzPRN7Dg
How To Install Windows 95 in PCem (486 emulator) (2018, best way!) (ISO in desc)

or vmware

PCem and x86Box seem to be the best options, virtualbox doesn't work with pallete output very well (wasn't made for that, it will work, but it will be slower until you install proper drivers or something that supports 32 bit color), vmware is neat but got bugged for me for some reason, dosbox didn't work either, and I got bored of the idea before getting to PCem.

it wasnt that long ago that i still had another late-20s burnout friend to wander around my shitty suburb at 3 am smoking weed and talking about touhou with but im starting to question if any of it was actually real at all, maybe i'm in a psych ward and imagined the whole thing or maybe i'm in a hospital bed dying of a heart attack and this entire life is a DMT-induced hallucination
