Some people are heroes for sacrificing their dreams. Others are heroes for following their dreams when maybe they shouldn't have.
As for me, I've given up on being an hero.

original idea: we can get rid of kanji eventually, only the ones that are required for usage require simplification
immediately after: wait fuck why do we keep adding new kanji to usage

Correlation does not equal causation. Is it cope?
yes, it was always a thought-terminating stock phrase used mainly by redditbrains. ooouuuoooh 80% of hollywood executives might be jews but correlation doesnt equal causation!

How long until some psycho writes an article like "The Last Time I Saw My Grandparents Was When I Infected Them With The Covid That Killed Them And I Am Not Ashamed."
still waiting for a take along the lines of "instead of the 1st world hoarding vaccines, we should give them to africa for the sake of properly testing them first"
>>434
there's probably some article somewhere that does this but frames the grandparents as anti-vaxxers
Yeah, yon' even know me! Yeah yeah ah! Yon' even knoooooooow me!
Oh the cunny you’ll blow
>>426,427correlation does not equal causation'' bothers me because
correlation does not imply causation'' is a stronger statement and usually is what such a person meant anyway
i dont think its cope to bring it up when discussing an event that a cognitive bias might make human perception of an event inaccurate but maybe you're seeing something i'm not
i commonly discard arguments on the basis of selection bias but ``correlation =\> causation'' is occasionally useful too
>>432,441
Causation is nothing but repeated correlation, coupled with the mind's tendency to infer general truths from particular instances. When many uniform instances appear and the same event is always followed by a distinct previous event, our mind comes to expect the later event to occur after observing the previous. This feeling of connection between two events, conditioned through repeated correlation, is what we call causation.

Maybe we keep rehashing decade callbacks because of the pervasive "post-ironic" hypercritical self-aware popular consciousness making organic culture harder to appear
Wait a second here, I'm too young to be old! Here's a lesson for you kids; eat your vegetables, or else your teeth fall out. Malnutrition isn't just for third world countries.

In 2000 the Washington Post had a writer who thought the 90s were so culturally devoid that we'd look back at it with blank stares, but tbf he/she doesn't experience time, and therefore the 10s, the way we Elitists do.

why are redditors so good at smugly reinventing 2,000 year old theological arguments except they replace god with a computer
the problem of evil is retarded and was solved by plato like 3000 years ago but redditors still quote it

To be honest, there are many things that make my ass burn with rage.
I feel like if we were starting tabula rasa, it actually wouldn't be that hard to find a political system that works, that everyone engages in and is reasonably happy with, and that actively makes the world a better place. But our current world is so far out of balance, with so many people traumatised and broken and alienated, and so many absurdly huge and arbitrary imbalances of power, that trying to implement such a system successfully, or even just trying to move towards something like it, is almost impossible.

I feel like judging sites as huge as Reddit and Twitter is a bit unfair honestly, they are so huge and varied in their content and userbase that you can't just generalize the whole platform, other than they skew a bit younger, maybe?
The bigger issue with them is that they homogenize and encourage corporate monopolies on social interaction online
